Solid Wood Finishes

Generally the timbers that we use in our doors come from lower movement classes. On the internal face of the doors, its is possible to use practically any timber but for the external face we try and use timbers betted suited to the extremes of the weather in all seasons.

With this in mind, below is the general list of timbers that we use on the external and internal face of our doors but in certain circumstances it is possible to use others externally depending on site conditions.

Timber Coatings

At Aquercia we use many different options of finish to achieve different effects. Primarily these fall into a few groups.

  • Spray painted finish in a RAL colour
  • Clear Exterior UV stabilised weather oil
  • Coloured Exterior weather oil
  • External Nordic style stains

 

 

Liquid Metal Finishes

Liquid metal finishes are a new design technique that involves applying a thin layer of metal to various surfaces, creating a striking metallic look. This innovative process uses metal particles suspended in a binder, which can be sprayed or painted onto the surfaces of the wood.

Once applied, the finish is either polished or left depending on the final appearance to reveal a smooth, lustrous appearance that mimics the look of solid metal.
